What are your opening hours?

The Good Sport is open 9am - 11pm every day, with food served 9am - 8pm. Breakfast hours are 9am - 11:30am.

 

Do you have parking?

No, but we are two minutes walk from Stock Lane car park. At the weekend and during school holidays, you can park on Grasmere Primary School playground, which is right next door to us.

 

How close are you to Grasmere village?

We are in the village! Very near the Grasmere bag shop, Osprey gift shop, art galleries, Grasmere church and famous Gingerbread shop. (Don’t forget to try our very own ginger-beer!)

 

Are you dog-friendly?

Yes! Inside and out.

 

Can we see a menu?

Yes! Here are typical breakfast, daily, and Sunday Special menus.

 

How do we book?

Do you show sports?

Yes, we have BT & Sky Sports and show major sporting events, especially at a weekend. One end of the room remains quieter for those who aren't so interested!

 

Do you serve local food?

Yes, we are proud of our fantastic Cumbrian food. For example, our lamb is from Herdwick sheep born and bred in Grasmere, at Will Benson’s Town Head Farm in Grasmere.

 

Do you serve local beer?

Yes! We are the tap-room for Grasmere Brewery. Our beer is brewed less than 100m away in some former farm buildings.

 

What beers do you have?

We have serve a selection Blonde Cumbrian lager, Pale Ale, Copper Ale, Ginger Beer (alcoholic so not a children's drink), Scrumpy and Red Bank Bitter. Cumbrian Stout will be available soon. We also have a popular lager and cider.

 

Do you serve wine & spirits?

Yes, we have a selection of other drinks available.

 

Do you serve tea, coffee, cakes & scones?

Yes we have local tea & coffee, & homemade cakes & scones.

 

Do you have options for people who want gluten-free or dairy-free food?

Yes, we have a vegetable curry which is gluten-free and dairy-free. Our soup is always gluten-free and dairy-free. Our chips are cooked in a separate fryer to ensure there are gluten-free. We have a gluten-free cake, usually a Bakewell slice. Please note that although we make every effort to keep these foods gluten-free, foods with gluten are prepared in the same kitchen.

 

Do you have options for people who are vegetarian or vegan?

We have several vegetarian options. Our soup is always vegan. We also have a vegan vegetable curry. Our scones are vegan. We have soya milk.

 

Do you have live music?

Yes we have live music every Saturday night from Easter until the end of the October half-term.

 

Do you have disabled access?

Our outside terrace is step-free, but there are two steps to get into the building. We are working with the local authority to put in a ramp.
